It went well. WWE holds several major events throughout the year, all of which feature a variety of important matches with top stories and feuds included. That can make for some showdowns which make quite the impact and can often stand the test of time. One of the matches in recent memory seems to have done just that, with the match receiving quite the backstage praise.

Over the weekend at WWE Bad Blood, CM Punk defeated Drew McIntyre in Hell In A Cell match which lasted over half an hour and saw both of them busted open. According to PWInsider.com by way of Wrestlingnews.co, the backstage feeling was that the match brought back the feeling of violence and danger that the Cell had in previous years. In addition, Punk collapsing in the aisle was just him selling the damage from the match.

Opinion: This isn’t exactly surprising as the match really was that kind of a violent, bloody showdown. It had a big build up after months of animosity and then they paid it off in a major way. I can see why the match received the praise bestowed on it and hopefully both of them are able to come up with something to follow that kind of a showdown. It won’t be easy, but if anyone can pull it off, they would seem to be likely candidates.
