What could have been. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in WWE over the last several years and a lot of that has been due to the roster the company has put together. There have been several stars who have become much bigger deals than ever before and the results have been a success. Occasionally you will see a star come back from the past and now another is saying she was going to be back in a big way.

Former WWE star Ariane Andrew, better known as Cameron, took part in a virtual signing with Golden Ring Collectibles and spoke about her return to WWE for the 2022 Royal Rumble. Andrew talked about how she appeared at the Royal Rumble and was called by WWE two days later about winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Naomi. However, later that week, WWE called again and changed their minds. Naomi would begin teaming with Sasha Banks about a month and a half later, eventually winning the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 38. Andrew has not wrestled since the Royal Rumble.

Opinion: The timing lines up on this, but the idea of the former Funkadactyls being Tag Team Champions in 2022 feels a bit hard to fathom. Banks and Naomi only had a limited history together, but they were still more of a success than Andrew and Naomi would have been. I can imagine someone telling Andrew that with little intent of following through, but it is hard to imagine this actually taking place.
What do you think of the idea? Will Naomi return to WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
