The first of his kind. WWE established its Hall Of Fame in 1993 and has announced new members every year since 2004. The induction ceremony is a special moment for a lot of people and it can be a lot of fun to see who joins the Hall every year. With so many people, it can be hard to find something new, but now WWE is inducting a different kind of person for the first time ever.

WWE has announced that Tim White will be the recipient of this year’s Warrior Award. White will be the first referee enshrined into the WWE Hall Of Fame. During his time in WWE, White served primarily as a referee, as well as a producer and the personal assistant of Andre The Giant. He is the fifth member of the class, joining Rey Mysterio, The Great Muta, Andy Kaufman and Stacy Keibler. The induction ceremony takes place this Friday night after SmackDown.

You might remember him. Check out some of White’s time in the company:

Opinion: This is one of those things that is going to make for a nice moment as White was around for so long and there are going to be some amazing stories about him. The point of the Warrior Award was to honor those who did work backstage and White certainly fits in. I could go for more names like him being honored, as they were around for so long and it would be nice to see them get the extra attention.
