It’s more complicated than that. WWE has several wrestlers who appear on a regular basis, but at the same time, some of them are only going to be around every so often. Occasionally stars will take some time off for one reason or another, which can lead to all kinds of speculation. This weekend at Money In The Bank, Drew McIntyre made a surprise return after nearly three months away from WWE TV. McIntyre attacked Intercontinental Champion Gunther, seemingly setting up a match between them. This comes after McIntyre had been away due to a combination of injuries and a reported contract dispute. According to Fightful Select and PWInsider.com, McIntyre’s WWE deal lasts until early next year and as a result, negotiations on a new deal have not yet begun. The agreement for McIntyre to return only came together in the last few days, as McIntyre wanted a strong story to return.
McIntyre is a star. Check out what McIntyre has been up to lately:
Opinion: What matters most here is that McIntyre is back, as he is one of the bigger stars in WWE at the moment. McIntyre came back for a big angle and it wouldn’t be out of the question for him to win the title from Gunther. WWE can always use more star power and that is what they are going to have now that McIntyre is back. Hopefully he re-signs with the company, as it could be a huge deal for everyone.
