He’s out. We are in a period of change for WWE as several people are coming and going from the promotion. You do not see that happen very often but it has resulted in a new era for the company. It can make a big difference when someone from behind the scenes leaves WWE and now we are seeing that again, as someone in a rather prominent position has left.

According to PWInsider.com, John Porco, the Executive Vice President of Live Events, has left WWE following 25 years with the company. Porco will be replced by Justin Scalise, the Senior Vice President of Live Event Marketing. There is nothing to suggest that there is any specific reason that led to Porco’s departure. He has been with WWE since 1999 and began his most recent role in May 2022.

Opinion: This is the latest departure but at least it doesn’t seem to be part of any major string of releases or people leaving. Sometimes someone just wants to try something new and maybe that is the case again with Porco. Things seem to be going rather well for WWE at the moment and hopefully that can continue under the department’s new leadership. That’s an important job and it would be great to have the right person in the role.
