Hanging it up? There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to wrap up their in-ring career, but occasionally it does not happen in the ring. Every so often you are going to see someone just announce that their careers are over, though it does not mean that their time in wrestling is done for good. That was the case again this week, as a former WWE Superstar announced that he was done in the ring after a long absence.

During an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, former WWE Superstar Maven announced his “wrestling days are over”, though he did say that he would never say never about possibly getting back in the ring. Maven said that he would like to stay in entertainment in some way, but due to his age, he will probably not be returning to the ring. Maven’s in-ring career began in 2001 and his most recent match took place at March of this year.

Opinion: I’m not sure if this is the biggest surprise, as Maven has not been in the limelight for a rather long time now. At the end of the day, he’s 47 years old and hasn’t been in a major promotion for a long time. He could still pop up every now and then at a smaller show, but I’m not sure I can imagine seeing him wrestling again, at least not in one of the bigger promotions. Maven stuck around for as long as he did and is still around wrestling to an extent, which is more than some can say.
