That’s one way to go. Over the last few months, one of the things that has seen a major rise in wrestling is the cinematic style match. While not popular with all of the fan base, the cinematic match certainly offers a different kind of presentation, which is certainly a good thing in times where almost nothing is normal in wrestling. As a result, WWE has been using them more and more often, which will be the case again at Extreme Rules.

One of the biggest stories coming into Extreme Rules has been the feud between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. The two are going to face off in a Swamp Fight at Extreme Rules, which could make for an interesting fight. The match is almost guaranteed to be another cinematic style presentation, but it might not even be the only one taking place on the show.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Eye For An Eye match at Extreme Rules will also be a cinematic style match. The match will end when someone pulls out their opponent’s eye, so the ending is expected to be done using CGI as one of the wrestlers’ eyes will be pulled out. There is no word on when the match will be taped in advance of the show.

The company has done some cinematic work before. Check out some of its previous efforts:

Opinion: I can understand the idea of making the match cinematic, but that doesn’t exactly make me interested in seeing a CGI eye being pulled out. That screams bad idea, but that has never stopped WWE when they get an idea in their head. I’m not sure what to expect from the match, but WWE doing more and more cinematic matches doesn’t exactly instill me with confidence.
