You can Bugenhagen. Every now and then, something just catches the attention of wrestling fans. It might not last for long, but for a little while, it works like nothing else. You might remember the rise of Blue Pants or the Egyptian Hypnosis from CZW, but when these things work, they’re going to stick in your head no matter what. As of Wednesday, NXT might have something similar on their hands.

This one speaks for itself. Check out the Bugenhagen magic:

Kayla Braxton joins Eric Bugenhagen's epic encore: NXT Exclusive, Feb. 6, 2019

This week on NXT TV, a new character named Eric Bugenhagen debuted and performed a rather well received air guitar entrance. He screamed loudly, he played Drew Gulak like a guitar, and asked the fans if they wanted to rock. It was so well received that Bugenhagen came out later in the night for an encore, and WWE just happened to have the cameras rolling to see how great it was.

Opinion: This is going to be one of those things where you either get it or you don’t and it’s not likely to have that long of a shelf life. Bugenhagen is a gimmick character and isn’t going to be around for very long more than likely, but the fans in Full Sail seem to like him and there’s nothing wrong with someone who can go out there and get the fans energized again. Use him a few times and let him go do his thing on the indies. Everyone benefits.

What do you think of the gimmick? Can you Bugenhagen? Let us know in the comments below.
