They’re the twelve. Last month, WWE introduced the new World Heavyweight Championship, which will act as the company’s second (or technically third) World Title. That is a major change for WWE and with the first champion being crowned at Night Of Champions on May 27, there isn’t a lot of time. Now we know who will be eligible to win the title.

WWE has announced that the new champion will be crowned via a tournament, with a pair of triple threat matches taking place on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown each. The winners of those matches will face off in a singles match each, with the winners of those matches facing off at Night Of Champions for the title. The following names have been announced for the tournament:
Monday Night Raw
Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes
Shinsuke Nakamura
Finn Balor
Damian Priest
Miz
SmackDown
Austin Theory
AJ Styles
Bobby Lashley
Rey Mysterio
Sheamus
Edge
WWE has not announced who will face off in each triple threat match.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could make for a variety of options, as you never know what you are going to see out of this combination. Having SmackDown stars available is a little odd, but I would assume that any SmackDown wrestler who wins would move over to Monday Night Raw. Hopefully WWE comes up with a good way to go, as we could be in for quite the title match.
