He’s doing that too. There are all kinds of people who come together to help make a wrestling show work and some of them are working multiple jobs at once. This includes some people who are also active wrestlers but might have something else that they can do to help the show. WWE tried that again earlier this week with a current active member of its roster.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That’s Way Up There: AEW Is Worth A Lot Of Money (You Might Be Surprised)

According to Fightful Select, Shawn Spears has begun working as a producer in NXT. Spears shadowed producer Johnny Moss this this week and also assisted in producing two matches on the show. It is not clear if this will become a full time job for Spears or if he will be staying in the ring. Spears returned to NXT earlier this year after departing AEW back in 2023.

Spears has done well in NXT. Check out his return to the company:

Opinion: That is a logical way to go for Spears as at 43 years old, he probably does not have a ton of time left in the ring. At the same time, he has a long history in wrestling and that is the kind of thing that could help with younger stars who need to further their careers. Other wrestlers have done something like this and we could be in for something good with the fresh blood helping put things together.
