Double Threat: An AEW Star Is Now An Emmy Award Nominated Actor

He’s doing well. Professional wrestlers have tried their hands at acting for decades and that is a trend which continues to this day. It can be a concept that works out well in some cases but most of the time, it does not find the most success. Every so often a wrestler breaks through in a positive way though and that appears to be the case again with a wrestling legend.

According to Deadline, AEW star Adam Copeland has been nominated for a Children’s & Family Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program for his work as Ares in the Disney+ series “Percy Jackson And The Olympians.” The winner will be announced on March 15, 2025. Copeland is currently out of wrestling action after breaking his leg earlier this year.

Opinion: This is quite the impressive feat as you see all kinds of wrestlers trying to get involved in acting and it rarely works well. Copeland very well may win the award, but even if he doesn’t, there is quite the status to being able to call yourself an Emmy Award nominated actor. That is a lot further than most wrestlers are able to get in acting and good for Copeland for putting in the effort to make something like this work.
