Bring them back? WWE runs all kinds of special events in any given year, with the biggest being described as Premium Live Events. The company has several shows that are presented every single year, but you never know when something new is going to be added to the rotation. Now it seems that WWE might be planning to bring back a classic, but with something extra added on.

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed a trademark for “WWE King And Queen Of The Ring”. While not confirmed, this would suggest that WWE is bringing back the King of the Ring event. This was rumored earlier in the year but no announcement was ever officially made. Last year, WWE presented the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament, but has never held a Queen Of The Ring tournament. There is no word on any details about WWE running either tournament, including when they might happen.

WWE has done some tournaments before. Check out a bit of each:

Opinion: This isn’t exactly the biggest surprise and that isn’t a bad thing. The King and Queen of the Ring are ideas that write themselves and really all WWE has to do is pick the fields and prizes. It’s a basic idea and that is not a bad thing, as some of the best things you see in wrestling are simple concepts turned up. Just make the idea work and we should be in for quite the evening.

What do you think of the concepts? Who should win the tournaments? Let us know in the comments below.
