Two at once. Title changes are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they can mark the beginning of a new era. This is the case for both the former and current champion, as one new reign beginning means another comes to an end. On rare occasions, that can take place multiple times in one night and that was the case this week, with a pair of big moments taking place.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Two WWE Hall Of Famers Get Involved In WrestleMania 40 Match
The opening match of WrestleMania 40 Night Two saw Drew McIntyre defeat Seth Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship, marking the end of the title’s first ever reign. Following the match, McIntyre insulted guest commentator CM Punk, who attacked McIntyre. This allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase and win the title in an impromptu match. The win marks Priest’s first World Title in WWE.
That was eventful. Check out the title changes and the aftermath:
Opinion: That is certainly the kind of thing that you do not see very often and it makes for a rather special moment. Priest cashing in the briefcase to win the title is a huge deal and it is great to see what happens when WWE figures out how to make this moment feel so big. They made it work here and I could go for seeing what happens with Priest now that he is the new champion.
