Don’t get your hopes up. There have been a lot of great stables throughout WWE’s history, with some of the better ones being around in recent years. It makes sense for a stable to be successful in modern wrestling, as there is a heck of a lot more television time for the teams to dominate. WWE name dropped a very successful stable recently, but a reunion does not seem likely.

Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and United States Champion Theory had a face to face confrontation. During their talk, Theory said that Rollins was the third most successful member of the Shield. This comes as WWE recently finished celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Shield’s WWE debut at Survivor Series 2012. This led to some speculation about a possible Shield reunion in WWE, but this is not likely at the time. Earlier this year, Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose of the Shield) signed a new deal with AEW, which will keep him under contract with the company until 2027.

The Shield was a great team. Check out the Ambrose name drop from this week, plus the team in action:

Opinion: While I could see the Shield reuniting at some point in the future, there isn’t exactly much of a chance of it happening in WWE anytime soon. The good thing is that the team is still young enough to have a heck of a reunion in WWE if they choose to do so, but it might be quite a wait before we get there. For now though, there are enough memories to keep fans tided over for a good while.
