What could have been. WWE produces a variety of wrestling shows around the world and it can be interesting to see where they take things next. You can see shows at different levels taking place in cities both inside of and outside of the continental United States and now they are heading to a different location entirely. Now we have an idea of what the original plans for the show were going to be.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Welcome Back: WWE Rehires 37 Year Old Former Star To New Role In Company
This weekend, WWE will be presenting Backlash from San Juan, Puerto Rico. One of the featured matches on the show will see Bad Bunny facing Damian Priest in a street fight. According to Fightful Select, the original plans for Bunny would have seen him team with Rey Mysterio to face Priest and Dominik Mysterio with Bunny pinning Dominik. Instead, the Mysterios were pulled from the match, as WWE felt that Bunny could handle himself in a singles match.
Bunny has been a heck of a star while he is around. Check out what he can do in WWE:
Opinion: This makes sense, as Bunny has done well while he is around so far and Priest will be able to walk him through the match well enough. While I can see the idea of having the Mysterios in the match to take away a lot more of the ring time and protect Bunny, there is something special about having Bunny stand on his own against someone who has come after him. I’m sure there are going to be people interfering, but Bunny on his own makes for a better visual.
What do you think of the idea? Which version of the match sounds better? Let us know in the comments below.
