It’s long term planning. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world has worked and that is the kind of thing that the wrestling world has been needing for a long time. There is now some competition at the top of the American wrestling industry and that allows various wrestlers to get another chance to shine on the bigger stage. Now we know a bit more about how long they will be doing just that.

In their rather short existence, AEW has signed a fairly high number of wrestlers. They have gone from having a small crew of wrestlers to a much larger roster after signing several wrestlers, many of which are younger and less known talents. Signing with AEW is the biggest break of a lot of their careers and that is something that could last for a long time.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is signing most of its newer talents to five year contracts. This includes new tag teams like the Acclaimed and Top Flight, both of whom have been signed within the last month. It is not clear if the same five year contracts apply to older wrestlers with more established careers. There is no word on how long the five year contracts will be offered.

Both teams have looked good so far. Check out what they can do in AEW:

Opinion: Good for the wrestlers who can get this kind of a contract so early in their careers. Just being on AEW alone is going to all but guarantee you a lengthy career on the independent circuit. That is a long time in the future though, and there is a very good chance that these contracts are going to last longer than some of these wrestlers have been in the ring so far. That’s not bad, and congratulations on getting such deals.
