What’s on tap. At one point or another, every wrestling fan has done some fantasy booking. The stories and situations they come up with might not make sense, but the hypothetical ones are often more entertaining in the first place. This can include one company invading another one as there are so many matches available that you would not see elsewhere. That is the case again, at least in theory.
The biggest wrestling story of the week took place on Wednesday during AEW Dynamite. The main event of the show saw Kenny Omega defeat Jon Moxley to become the new AEW World Champion. Following the win, Omega ran to the back with Impact Wrestling executive Don Callis, who said that Omega would be appearing on next week’s Impact Wrestling, suggesting an agreement between the two companies. Now we know a bit more about what to expect.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, there are no plans for an extensive invasion or feud between AEW and Impact Wrestling. The main goal is for Omega to give Impact Wrestling a boost as a favor to his friend Don Callis. Once his Impact Wrestling contract expires, Callis is expected to come to AEW as Omega’s full time manager. Omega’s appearance could also set up a one off Good Brothers match in AEW against a team to be determined. His appearance on Impact Wrestling could set that up.
It was a big moment. Check out how everything got started:
Opinion: That might be the best outcome possible from the whole thing. Impact Wrestling is not on AEW’s level and does not have the strongest reputation. While a company vs. company story could do wonders for Impact Wrestling, the benefit to AEW might not be as strong. Let AEW go with what makes more sense for themselves and give Impact Wrestling a one off boost and leave it at that.
