Someone did something wrong. Modern wrestling is an interesting situation, as you have all kinds of wrestling on television, but that does not mean everything is going to be at the highest level. While a lot of the matches can be quite the quality experience, there are going to be some that just do not work out so well in the end. That was the case this week, and now we know a bit more about it.
This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a match between Jade Cargill and the debuting AQA. Cargill won the match, which included a series of mistakes and sequences where the women did not appear to be communicating. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the problems were caused by AQA, who was being instructed on what to do throughout the match by referee Bryce Remsburg. There is no word on if AQA will be wrestling for AEW again in the future.
Opinion: The match certainly did have some issues, though I’m not sure how smart it was to have AQA brought in and putting her in a longer match with Cargill, who has not wrestled fifty matches in her career yet. It could have been worse, but the better solution would have seemed to be wrapping the match up faster than they did. Hopefully it was just an off night, though you never can tell in wrestling.
What did you think of the match? What is next for Cargill? Let us know in the comments below.
