Delay: Paul Heyman Offers Big Update On Roman Reigns’ WWE Return, His Draft Status

That’s the big one. WWE is in the fallout from WrestleMania season and it could be a long time before we really get back to the top level again. That makes things more interesting, as it leaves fans wondering what they should expected next. This includes details on the statuses of the top stars in the company and now we know something else about one of the biggest names around.

This week’s SmackDown included the first night of the 2024 WWE Draft. Before the first picks were announced, Paul Heyman announced that Roman Reigns had voluntarily removed himself from the Draft pool. Reigns was said to not want to hog the #1 spot when he would not be around for the foreseeable future. It is not clear when Reigns will return to WWE TV. Reigns’ Bloodline faction was drafted to SmackDown later in the night.

Opinion: This makes a lot of sense as WWE is not going to want fans to think and talk about Reigns if they can avoid it, as Reigns does not seem likely to be around much in the near future. That is going to make Reigns’ return that much bigger and WWE seems ok with letting the anticipation build. Pulling Reigns from the Draft might be a bit disappointing, but it makes sense.
