The word duh comes to mind. Neville has basically held the Cruiserweight Title since January (save for that pretty worthless six day reign by Akira Tozawa) and needs some fresh competition. He’s established himself as the top star in the division by several miles and the standard plans of coming after him haven’t gotten most people very far. Now it’s time for a change of pace.

This week on “205 Live”, Enzo Amore won a fatal five way elimination match to earn the next title shot against Neville at “No Mercy 2017”. Amore joined the cruiserweight division two weeks ago and Neville has had his eye on him ever since. The match also included Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, Tony Nese and Brian Kendrick.

Here’s how Amore sees some of his fellow cruiserweights.

Enzo Amore introduces his partners and opponents: Raw, Sept. 4, 2017

Opinion: This is far from shocking and there’s no reason not to go with Amore while he’s still hot. Amore taking the title from Neville through various shenanigans and then defending it Honky Tonk Man style is a fun story, though I do wonder how long of a shelf life Amore is going to have. There may be more talented in-ring performers than Amore but they’ve had nearly a year to draw interest to the show and no one has come close. Amore is the way to go right now, like him or not.

Do you think Amore will take the title from Neville? If he doesn’t, who will? Let us know in the comments below.
