There Are Conflicting Reports About Cody Rhodes’ Future WWE Status (Neither Is Bad)

Well, maybe? There have been all kinds of changes to WWE in recent months and several of them have involved the statuses of some of the company’s top stars. It can mean a lot for WWE to ensure the future of some of those names and the company has been going out of its way to do so. Now it seems that they might have done it again, but things are not entirely clear.

There are conflicting reports over Cody Rhodes signing a new deal with WWE. F4WOnline is reporting that not only has the teal been signed, but it was signed back in October. At the same time, Fightful Select is reporting that while the two sides have all but agreed to a deal, the contract has not officially been signed. This comes as WWE has been signing several of its stars, including Charlotte and Dominik and Rey Mysterio, to new contracts.

Opinion: It would make all the sense in the world for WWE to want to sign Rhodes up long term, as he is about as big of a star as WWE has at the moment. Why wouldn’t WWE want to keep him around for the foreseeable future? This is something WWE is doing or quite the group of stars, and it makes things more interesting when WWE is attempting to cut off wrestlers from being able to head anywhere else.
