He’s worth it. With all the hullabaloo about AEW over the last week, there’s one big name that has been kind of overlooked: Kenny Omega. Over the last few years, Omega has been one of the most revered wrestlers in the world and someone who has been wanted by almost every promotion. As it turns out, something very big is changing and that could shake things up.
According to Bodyslam.net, Omega will be wrapping up his time with New Japan Pro Wrestling either after Friday’s Wrestle Kingdom or after the following day’s New Year’s Dash event. AJ Styles left the company at the 2016 New Year’s Dash event before debuting with WWE later that month at the Royal Rumble. There is no word on where Omega will be heading after the event, though both WWE and AEW are possibilities.
Here’s what Omega has been up to lately. Check out this preview for his Wrestle Kingdom 13 match against Hiroshi Tanahashi:
Opinion: I have no idea where Omega is going, but having him debut in the Royal Rumble would be insane. At the same time, it would be insane to have him be the centerpiece for AEW, both of which would make waves in wrestling. Omega is someone who can bring in an audience and be one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world. This could mean multiple things and could make for some very interesting news in the near future.
