He has a plan for that. WWE has three separate talent rosters with Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT, meaning there are a lot of wrestlers to go around. However, NXT is officially the developmental brand, making it a bit lower than the other two. There are occasions when that is not the case though, and now we might be seeing that reality come together again.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Where The Usos And Roman Reigns Are Possibly Heading This Summer

Earlier this week, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker challenged World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to come to NXT and defend the title against him. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is part of WWE CEO Nick Khan’s plans to treat NXT as a third brand. This also includes main roster names appearing in NXT. There is no word on how many more names might appear in NXT in the future.

Opinion: This is something that WWE has tried to do over the years to varying degrees of success but it makes sense to want to do it again. What matters is that NXT might be getting a lot more attention, which it has been needing for awhile. Having the show on national television and treating it as something so far beneath Monday Night Raw and SmackDown isn’t the most logical thing in the world so maybe this is the change that NXT has been needing.
