That’s what they want. For the last six years, WWE has had an ongoing business relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This has seen annual events in the country, with some regular shows taking place there as well. Later this month, SmackDown will be broadcast from Saudi Arabia for the first time. The country now has its eye on some much bigger shows.

Turki Alsheikh, the Chairman of the Saudi Arabia General Entertainment Authority, was a guest on the MMA Hour and revealed that the country was in talks with WWE to host either the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania in 2026 or 2027. There is no word on how far along the talks have gotten. WWE has announced that WrestleMania 41 will take place near Las Vegas, Nevada in 2025.

Opinion: This is something that shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the two sides have come closer and closer in recent years. At some point, one of the two biggest shows of the year was destined to go to Saudi Arabia, where the majority of the fans are happy or not. WWE makes so much money from Saudi Arabia that it would be almost business suicide to not work with them, which is how we got to this point.
