He’s a good guy. Wrestling is a weird entertainment world as the line between reality and storyline can become a little blurry at times. Sometimes you might forget that these wrestlers are playing characters on television, which can give you a few positive moments. You can have some very nice developments, and that is the case again now, with something that shouldn’t really shock you.
AEW’s first show was not even a year and a half ago and the company has already become a weekly staple for wrestling fans. One of the biggest reasons is Chris Jericho, who has brought some incredible star power to the company. It helps when Jericho is such a legend that he can get away with doing almost anything he wants. That’s quite the positive thing, but Jericho is also using his success to help others.
On Sunday, wrestling legend Kamala passed away at the age of 70 due to the Coronavirus, which Kamala contracted last week and caused issues with his diabetes. A GoFundMe has been set up to help Kamala’s widow with a goal of $25,000. On Tuesday, Jericho donated $5000 to the cause, with the goal being reached soon thereafter. Jericho has a history of making large donations to wrestlers in need, including Shad Gaspard’s family and Kamala once before when Kamala was in danger of losing his home.
They both deserve a tribute. Check out both Jericho and Kamala:
Opinion: There is something so awesome about seeing someone with the resources to do something like this actually backing it up with his actions. Not very many people are able to do it and even fewer actually do something about it. Jericho has made it very clear that he cares about the wrestling business and the people involved in it, so while this doesn’t surprise me, it is still awesome to see.
