Stick around for a little while. There have been a lot of changes coming and going in WWE lately and that can make things more or less interesting, depending on your taste. Some of these changes include bringing in different and fresh names, many of which are brand new to not just WWE but also wrestling in general. One of these names is certainly sticking around and for a long time.

According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez has signed a multi-year deal with WWE. Velasquez made his debut on the debut of SmackDown on FOX last week to confront Brock Lesnar and will go on to challenge Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel. Velasquez will also be retiring from the UFC and mixed martial arts in general, meaning he will be focusing on wrestling full time. He does however need knee surgery and will be out of action for a long time as a result.

Velasquez was back on the second show. Check out his appearance on this week’s SmackDown:

Opinion: Well it worked with Lesnar. I don’t know if Velasquez is going to be the next Ronda Rousey or Lesnar but he is a natural athlete and seems like he could be a big deal, if nothing else for his mainstream credibility. Just saying he destroyed Lesnar in the UFC is going to be a calling card so maybe WWE has a star on their hands. Hopefully that can be the case and you never know what kind of hidden gem they can find.

How do you expect Velasquez to do in WWE? What will he do after feuding with Lesnar? Let us know in the comments below.
