It’s a bit of a change. The Coronavirus pandemic has changed all kinds of things about the wrestling world, which is still the case over a year later. While things are getting better in 2021, almost everything was thrown in the air during most of 2020. One of those changes is still going to have an impact on a pretty special event in 2021, which is coming up in the near future.

WrestleMania 36 was completely shaken up due to the pandemic, but at least it took place. The rest of WrestleMania weekend did not take place, including the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. That was quite the moment to miss, as there was already a rather stacked class in 2020. The class will get its chance this year, along with the class of 2021. Doubling up has caused quite the change though, and it might not be the best thing.

The Bella Twins, who are being inducted as part of the class of 2020, discussed the ceremony on the latest edition of their podcast. Brie Bella mentioned that this year’s speeches were cut down from ten to fifteen minutes to three to five minutes. As a result, the Bellas had to cut their speech down, which left them unsure of what to leave in. The Hall of Fame ceremony will air on Tuesday April 6 on Peacock.

The Hall of Fame will have some big classes this year. Check out their announcements:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you had to know was coming and it might be for the best. At the end of the day, we are looking at a very large Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which does have a tendency to run long in a normal year. Even with the shorter speeches, the ceremony is going to be long anyway. Cutting them down might not be fair, but it has to be done to keep things even close to reasonable.
