The boss. Just over a year ago, Vince McMahon retired from WWE, following a string of sexual misconduct allegations. McMahon would ultimately return to the company early this year before agreeing to sell it to Endeavor. This has led to questions about McMahon’s involvement with the company’s creative process, and now we have a bit more of an official status update.

WWE COO Triple H was asked about McMahon’s involvement with WWE’s creative process during this weekend’s post Summerslam press conference. Triple H said that while McMahon was not involved either “day to day” or “all the time”. In addition, Fightful Select reports that McMahon was involved in the “final say” aspect of creative. However, this was before McMahon underwent back surgery last month. There is no word on what kind of involvement he currently has or what his involvement will be when he recovers.

Opinion: I can’t say this is the biggest surprise, as McMahon has always been obsessed with being in control of WWE. It might be a good thing that McMahon is not involved with everything that is going on full time, and it seems that he is taking something of a backseat this time. Maybe that changes when his back is repaired, but for now, it could be interesting to see what happens when he takes a break.
