That doesn’t sound good. An injury is a horrible thing to see and you never know when one is going to take place. They can happen in the blink of an eye, either in the gym or in the ring. That can change a match on the fly but sometimes a change needs to be made out of necessity. Unfortunately it seems to be the case again as a match had to be changed due to an injury.
Titles mean a lot in NXT, even if there are more of them now than ever. One thing that the promotion has done very well over the years is treat their titles like the most important thing going. It could be anything from the NXT Title to the Women’s Title to the North American Title or any point in between and NXT treats it with great respect. One title might be shaken up soon after this week’s main event.
NXT Tag Team Champion Danny Burch was injured during this week’s NXT main event and was removed from the match. Burch landed awkwardly on a suplex and seemed to injure either his neck or shoulder. Following a commercial break, Burch was being tended to by medics and did not return to the match, with commentary mentioning him being checked out. According to PWInsider.com, Burch is believed to have suffered a separated shoulder. There is no word on how long he could be out of action.
That is horrible to hear. Check out what Burch can do in a match without the injury:
Opinion: That is not good news and hopefully Burch’s status is better than it seems. A separated shoulder could put him on the shelf for a very long time and would likely end his title reign with Oney Lorcan. It is too early to tell what that is going to mean, but we will likely know more tomorrow. That is a horrible injury to suffer and unfortunately all we can do now is wait and see how bad it is.
