That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them can put a wrestler on the shelf for a very long time. On the other hand, there are some that a wrestler can work through for a bit if they have something important to do before getting things fixed up. The latter might be the case at the moment, but it is the case for a pretty big name.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Important Loss: Longtime AEW Backstage Worker And Wrestler Announces Resignation

According to Fightful Select, AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman posted a tweet saying that he had undergone an MRI, which revealed a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He went on to say he would defend the title against Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End on December 30 as planned. This comes after reports that Friedman had hurt his shoulder against Jay White at Full Gear. There is no word on how much Friedman, who is also dealing with a hip injury, will be able to wrestle prior to his title defense.

Friedman has been a fighting champion. Check out some of his time with the title:

Opinion: This isn’t sounding good and unfortunately it means we won’t be seeing Friedman in the ring for the time being. That kind of an injury could very easily get worse if he stays in the ring and now we will have to see how everyone deals with it. Friedman seems like he will wrestle at the pay per view, but that very well could be the end of his reign after a record setting time with the title.

What does this mean for Friedman? Who should take the title from him? Let us know in the comments below.
