Get the mainstream ready. Celebrities have a long history in wrestling and it is not hard to see why. There is something interesting about bringing a mainstream name into the wacky world of wrestling and seeing what happens when the two universes collide. If you have a celebrity who is a big wrestling fan at the same time, then everything can be made that much better in a hurry. That might be the case this year at WrestleMania.
One of the cooler moments from this weekend’s Royal Rumble was a live performance by Bad Bunny of his song about Booker T., who literally stood in during the song. Bunny is known to be a huge wrestling fan and has written wrestling themed songs before. The night after the Royal Rumble, Bunny was a guest on MizTV and now he might be back again on a bigger stage.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE has plans for Bunny to continue appearing in the future, which could culminate in a match at WrestleMania 37. There is no word on who the match would be against, but Bunny has also been paired with Damien Priest in an effort to give Priest some extra spotlight with his main roster debut. It is not clear how often Bunny would be appearing on WWE TV.
Bunny is off to a big start. Check out how he did at the Royal Rumble:
Opinion: I’m not exactly familiar with Bunny or his work but if he is this big of a star, it is not the worst idea in the world to have him doing something with Priest for a special show. If Bunny can give Priest a rub on his way in then good for everyone involved, including Bunny, who seems to be a huge fan and would probably love to be involved in something like this. Celebrities are hit or miss a lot of the time, but the bigger fan they are, the better they tend to do.
