He earned it. Wrestlers are like athletes in any other sport in that occasionally they need some time off. This could be for mental or physical reasons, but everyone needs a breather at one time or another. That is what we are seeing again with one of the biggest names in WWE, and it seems that we will not be seeing him again for a rather long time after a major victory.

This week on Monday Night Raw, CM Punk announced that he would be taking time off from WWE following his victory over Drew McIntyre inside Hell In A Cell at Bad Blood. Punk said that he did not know how much more he had in the ring and was banged up from the match. There is no word on when Punk is expected to return to WWE television or wrestle again.

Opinion: This feels like something that is taking place due to Punk’s issues with the shows in Saudi Arabia. Punk has made it clear that he does not approve of those shows and his hiatus comes up just as WWE is getting ready for its next Saudi Arabia event. It would not surprise me whatsoever if Punk is back just as the company gets back stateside, which is not a bad result.
