The other side. For decades now, WWE has been the dominant force in professional wrestling. There have been some other promotions around the industry, but none of them have been able to put a major dent in WWE’s status. The rise of AEW has changed that to an extent, but now WWE is planning to do something to take a shot at AEW in a rather important way.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No? Major Speculation About The End Of Bryan Danielson’s Career As A Full Time Wrestler

Earlier this week, it was reported that WWE would be holding a live event in Orlando, Florida on December 28. This is the same date and city as AEW’s World’s End pay per view. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is running an event in the same place on the same date for “essentially bragging rights and nothing more”. There is no word on if WWE plans to do something similar in the future.

WWE has run Orlando before. Check out their time in the city:

Opinion: This is hardly a great thing to see and if this is the only reason that WWE is running the event, it hardly comes off as a great look. While it is just business, there is only so much good will that can be gained from having a show at the same time the other promotion is running a major event. It doesn’t exactly look great for WWE, and hopefully it doesn’t become the norm.
