By The Rules: New Details On WWE’s Plans For The Draft

They have plans. WWE is unofficially starting its new season with WrestleMania 40 finally in the books. The company has a variety of changes that it needs to make to keep things moving and that can make for an interesting few weeks. WWE has already announced one of its most important events in the coming weeks and now we know some more about what is going to happen.

Last week, WWE officially confirmed the return of the WWE Draft, with the event taking place on April 26 and April 29, with NXT also being included. Fightful Select has some new details, including that the Draft is being help around the same time as the NFL Draft in an effort to cash in on the NFL Draft interest. There is also a strong belief that NXT will be receiving some main roster stars. This is being done in an effort to make NXT the third bran again, rather that just developmental.

Opinion: This is where the Draft can shake things up a good bit and that is what it is designed to do. WWE is starting a bunch of new stuff and having them freshen the rosters up through the Draft could help a lot. What matters is keeping things balanced, though NXT could use more of a boost than the other two rosters as it is starting from a good distance behind them.
