Who are you again? There are all kinds of things that come together to make a wrestler’s presentation. While their look and in-ring work matter, there is also the simple concept of their name. Calling a wrestler the right thing can make a huge difference, which is why a name change can be a big deal. Now it seems that WWE is changing two wrestlers’ names back to what they were before.

This week on SmackDown, the Street Profits defeated the AOP in a tag team match. However, during the match, the latter team was introduced as the Authors Of Pain, their former team name. According to Fightful Select, this change has been officially made internally in WWE and the name is likely to stick going forward. There is no word on why WWE has made the change.

Opinion: This is a move that might not be the most important but it makes sense in the big picture. At the end of the day, the team has not been around in a long time and the fans might not know what AOP stands for. Changing it back to the original makes sense, as it ties into the Final Testament name and it makes more sense. The team has already been doing well since they returned and now they can do it under a better name.
