That’s one of the worst ones. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and they are some of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler. You never know when you might see someone go down in pain and the question instantly becomes how long they might be out of action. That is the kind of thing that can cause all kinds of problems and we might be seeing a horrible one.
AEW has a lot of promising wrestlers on their roster and that is something they can build on for a long time to come. While a lot of their current success if built on their older stars, they have to have somewhere to go in the future and that seems to already be the case. Some of these wrestlers are women, but one of the brighter stars in the women’s division might not be around for a bit.
According to Wrestling Observer Live, the current belief is that Britt Baker suffered a torn ACL during this week’s AEW Dynamite. This is not yet confirmed as Baker is currently awaiting an MRI. Should it be a torn ACL, Baker could be out for at least nine months. The injury came when Hikaru Shida and Kris Stadtlander drove Nyla Rose into Baker. After the spot, Baker tagged out and was checked on by the ringside physician without returning to the match. Baker is currently scheduled to face Stadtlander on Saturday at Double Or Nothing.
It was a nasty landing. Check out the match where things fell apart:
Opinion: That would be a terrible thing for both Baker and AEW as she is just starting to find her footing. Injuries can be absolutely devastating and that is the case here, as Baker is likely going to be out of action for a very long time to come. Hopefully the injury isn’t as bad as it seems, but this could be the kind of thing that could be horrible for her career, especially at this point.
What do you think of Baker? How far can she go if she is healthy? Let us know in the comments below.
