That’s awful. Injuries can be one of the worst things that you see in wrestling and there is no way around most of them. Several injuries take place in the middle of a match through very little fault of the wrestlers but they are still going to have to deal with the aftermath. That is the case again with a WWE star, and in this case it means a title change is going to be coming soon.

According to a report from TMZ, and as affirmed by Fightful, Sonya Deville has suffered a torn ACL and will be undergoing surgery to repair the injury on Tuesday. The injury is believed to have taken place on the July 28 SmackDown when Deville teamed with Chelsea Green in a loss to Charlotte and Bianca Belair. There is no word on how long Deville will be out of action. Deville and Green are the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but there is no word on what will happen to the titles.
Deville has been on a roll as of late. Check out what she has been up to:
Opinion: Egads that is terrible to hear and you never want to see something like this happen. Deville and Green were starting to hit their stride as a team and it is a shame to see them split up over something like this. I’m not sure what this is going to mean for the titles, but there aren’t exactly a ton of options for the new champions at the moment, as the division is a little thin at best.
Should Deville return on her own or in a team? What does this mean for the titles? Let us know in the comments below.
