It can happen to anyone. Injuries are one of the few universal troubles that any wrestler can face. You never know when you are going to be seeing someone get hurt and need to go onto the shelf. This can happen to any wrestler no matter what they are doing, even all the way to the top of the card. Unfortunately that is the case with the top star of a major promotion.

Impact Wrestling has announced that World Champion Josh Alexander has suffered a torn tricep and will be forced to vacate the title effective immediately. A new champion will be crowned at Rebellion when Kushida faces Steve Maclin for the vacant title. The injury ends Alexander’s second reign with the title at a record 335 days. There is no word on when Alexander will return to action.
Safe to say this news is devastating. I’ve torn my tricep. I will have to relinquish my @IMPACTWRESTLING World title immediately.
I’m heading into surgery momentarily. I’m so thankful for my Impact family for the support.
I’ll be back & I’ll be better than ever.

Alexander was a force in Impact. Check out some of his time on top:
Opinion: That is absolutely horrible to hear and it is a shame that such an all time title reign has to end like this. Impact has come a long way in the last few years and a lot of that has been due to Alexander. While Maclin seemed to be the likely candidate to take the title from Alexander, it would have been nice to see him actually get to do it. For now though, this is as good as can be done and hopefully Alexander is back on his feet as soon as possible.
What do you think of Alexander? Who would you like to see him face when he returns? Let us know in the comments below.
