It had to happen. There are very few things that can affect wrestlers at any level at any time. One of the worst which could come out of nowhere is an injury, which has taken down all kinds of wrestlers over the years. Some of these could not come at a worse time and unfortunately that seems to be the case again, as a champion has suffered a pretty serious injury.
NXT has done rather well with their champions over the years and that has made their titles feel all the more important. That is something you do not get to see often enough in wrestling these days and it is very valuable to have the titles feel more important. That is the case with every with every title up and down the card, which makes bad news feel all the worse.
NXT General Manager William Regal has announced that the NXT Tag Team Titles, previously held by Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, are officially vacated due to Burch suffering a separated shoulder. Regal will be addressing the situation this week on NXT. The injury took place on last week’s show when Burch landed awkwardly off of a suplex from Karrion Kross. There is no word on how long Burch will be out of action.
The team was great while it listed. Check out what the champs could do when they were healthy:
Opinion: Unfortunately I’m not exactly surprised by this that was a nasty injury last week. Burch landed hard on his shoulder and it was fairly clear that he was going to be out of action for at least a little while. Hopefully he is better in a hurry and I’m curious to see what happens to the titles. NXT does not have the deepest tag team division at the moment and I’m not sure where the titles are going.
