Welcome to the house. There are some incredibly talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and that has been a major part of their success. The company has managed to bring in a variety of wrestlers who have not gotten a chance elsewhere, allowing for quite a few fresh matches. Now they may be doing that again with a former WWE star who was released before getting his real shot.
During this weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view, Shane “Swerve” Strickland made his debut and officially signed his contract with the company. This comes after Strickland had been rumored to sign with the company over the last several weeks. There is no word on when Strickland will debut. Strickland wrestled for WWE under the name Isaiah Scott before being released less than a month after being called up to the main roster from NXT.
Opinion: This isn’t exactly a surprise as it has been rumored for a few weeks now but it is absolutely a nice thing to see. Strickland should have been a much bigger deal in WWE but the company decided to cut him loose instead. I could go for seeing what he can do when he is given a chance, as he has had good showings for himself in any other place he is given a shot.
What do you think of Strickland? What can he do in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
