Oh dear. Braun Strowman has been rolling through 2017 like it owes him money. No one has been able to stop him in recent months and he’s destroyed Roman Reigns multiple times. It would seem that he was ready to move all the way to the top of the roster, perhaps even challenging for the Universal Title…..and then something bad happened.

It was reported last week that Strowman was going to undergo surgery and be out for anywhere from four to six weeks. Now the surgery has taken place and it turns out that things are a bit worse than they originally appeared. According to the article on WWE.com, Strowman is going to be out for up to six MONTHS instead of six weeks. This would put him out nearly all the way up to “Survivor Series 2017” and definitely put him out of his potential title matches against Brock Lesnar at both “Great Balls of Fire” and “Summerslam 2017”.

Here’s the statement from the article:

“Immediately after the assault on Strowman’s injured shoulder and elbow by the former WWE Champion, The Monster Among Men left Raw in an ambulance and was able to get back to the United States for an evaluation this past Wednesday. Following the medical consultation, Strowman underwent surgery on Thursday in Birmingham, Ala. with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas. During the procedure, it was revealed, among his other injuries, that Strowman’s elbow had been shattered, and he is expected to miss up to six months of action as a result.”

Opinion: ….dang. That’s one heck of a way to dethrone Strowman, who was the hottest thing in the company over the last few months. Of course he could come back and be better than ever, but there’s a very good chance that he’s going to lose a lot of his heat. The interesting thing now is who fills in Strowman’s place, which could be either Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor or someone else.
