The boss is back. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been Vince McMahon’s return to WWE. McMahon is reportedly only back to help negotiate the media rights deal and to help sell the company, though it has led to questions of how hands on McMahon will be. While there is nothing to suggest that he is running creative day to day, McMahon did have a hand in this year’s WrestleMania.

According to PWInsider Elite, McMahon was backstage at WrestleMania 39 Night One and wearing a headset early in the show, giving feedback and asking questions. He also had an office near the Gorilla Position. McMahon was also said to be supervising the show rather than just sitting around like he was reportedly doing a few weeks ago at Monday Night Raw in Boston. There is no word on if he will continue to do this after WrestleMania.
McMahon has been in charge before. Check out some of his time as the WWE boss:
Opinion: This is an interesting situation and the problem is we’ll have to wait and see where it goes. The biggest thing to remember is that it is WrestleMania and not the week to week television. If McMahon is trying to run his most successful creation on two nights of the year, it is a bit different than doing everything that he did prior to leaving the company. Maybe he does just that, but we’ll have to wait and see.
