Big One: New WWE Champion Likely Set For Upcoming Major Title Defense

Sounds like a plan. WWE is done with its 2023 Draft and that means things are going to be changing in a big way. There are wrestlers who have moved from one roster to another, including champions. Those champions are going to be in for a huge batch of new challengers, some of which have held titles before. Now we have an idea of who might be coming after one of the titles.

Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair was drafted to SmackDown during the Draft, after which she said she will become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Belair’s first challenger is likely to be Charlotte, who will be turning heel to challenge Belair. Charlotte has not appeared on WWE TV since losing the SmackDown Women’s Title to Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 39 and it is not clear when she will be back.

Opinion: This would be an interesting way to go as the two of them don’t have the deepest history together and have not had a singles match in over a year and a half. That is the kind of dream match that is still fresh, which you do not get to see very often. It would certainly be worth a look and if WWE can have it take place on a major stage, they very well may have something.
