On March 12, 2022, Big E. suffered a broken neck when he landed on his head on the floor during a match on SmackDown. Big E. has neither wrestled nor appeared on WWE TV since. In a recent interview with TMZ, Big E. said that the bones in his neck had connected together, but he wanted to make a smart decision about returning to the ring. He said he did not start wrestling to end his career in a wheelchair and did not have a timeline for a potential return to the ring.

Big E. has had quite the career. Check out what he has done in WWE:

Opinion: There isn’t much of a way around the idea of “I didn’t start wrestling to end up in a wheelchair”. Big E. was incredibly lucky to have gotten through his injury as well as he has so far. I’m not sure if he is ever going to wrestle again but for now, things are at least getting better and he seems to be doing what he wants, outside of being able to get back in the ring again so far.
