It matters. There are all kinds of things that come together to making a presentable wrestler. While the in-ring portion is important, the ability to talk is right up there as well, if not at the top of the list. Wrestlers have to manage to find a way to connect with the audience and speaking to them is one of the most effective. Now some WWE stars have some good news in that area.

WWE has a recent history of having wrestlers use scripted interviews and promos, which has caused some wrestlers to complain about the lack of freedom. According to Fightful Select, some wrestlers have been granted some extra freedom with promos, including but not limited to Shinsuke Nakamura and Karrion Kross in recent weeks. There is no word on how far the latitude will stretch.

Opinion: This is good to hear and thankfully it is something that has been taking place more recently. What matters is allowing the wrestlers’ personalities to stick out, as having the same people write all of the speeches and promos is not exactly going to get anyone very far. Hopefully everything winds up going that much better, and now we could be in for some stronger character development.
