Welcome back. WWE is the biggest wrestling company in the world and as a result has one of the deepest talent pools going today. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers up and down the roster, both in WWE and in NXT. That list is regularly updated with various wrestlers being added here and there, including some new signings to NXT. Another big name is joining the club.
While the WWE Women’s Revolution has brought women’s wrestling a long way, it is not the only promotion to do something in that area. Impact Wrestling has been one of the biggest supporters of women’s wrestling for a very long time now and that continues to be the case today. Impact’s women’s division is loaded with talent, but now they have lost one of their bigger stars to WWE.
According to PWInsider.com, former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie has signed with WWE and will be reporting to NXT in the near future. This comes after WWE has signed several other talents as part of its next NXT class. Valkyrie was trained by Lance Storm and signed a WWE developmental deal in 2011 but never made any significant appearances. She wrestled extensively in Mexico and Impact Wrestling, where she was the longest reigning Knockouts Champion. Valkyrie is married to Monday Night Raw star John Morrison.
Opinion: This is a good signing from WWE as Valkyrie is not someone starting from scratch and has a strong resume coming into NXT. It is certainly a boost to NXT, as Valkyrie could be added straight into the title picture if need be without much trouble whatsoever. If nothing else, it should be rather nice to have Morrison and Valkyrie wrestling under the same banner again.
