At least he has a good reason. There have been several names missing from WWE television as of late, to the point where they could probably have their own promotion. That’s an incredible amount of people to be missing and some of them seemingly have no reason to be gone. However, one of them does have an excuse and it’s not something that can be blamed on WWE.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rusev has been absent from television as of late because he requested some time off. He is not injured, nor has WWE intentionally left him off television. Rusev’s most recent match was as part of the battle royal at Super ShowDown, though his most recent match on SmackDown Live was on April 16. There is no word on when he will be back regularly.

Rusev was also on the recent European tour. Check out his not so positive thoughts on Germany:

Opinion: That’s certainly better than WWE not remembering he’s around, though I’m not sure how much room there would be for him on the show anyway. One of the biggest problems WWE has at the moment is getting people on television and given how many people show up on both shows, it’s not the easiest thing in the world. Hopefully things get better soon, because this isn’t working well at the moment.
