I’ve got some… something for you. Consider Bad News Barrett. Over the last few years, he was one of the biggest “what if’s” in wrestling as a lot of people wondered what might have happened if he was pushed like a star instead of just being a goon in various characters. One of the most intriguing was Bad News Barrett, which is still owned by WWE. However, Barrett might have found a way around that problem.

According to Barrett’s Instagram, he’ll be appearing at WrestleCon 2017 as Fake News Barrett, which seems like it could be a comedy character. There is no word about Barrett getting back in the ring at any point in the future though. Barrett was released from WWE last April and wrestled his last match on the April 4, 2016 Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: I’m not sure what to think about this but Barrett has shown the ability to be a funny guy and the moniker would suggest that this is going to be a potentially funny idea. I’d like to see Barrett, who is only 36 years old, back in the ring at some point as he always showed a lot of untapped potential.

King Barrett returns to reclaim his throne: Raw, Sept. 28, 2015
