Backstage Speculation Over Recent WWE Releases, How NXT May Be Involved

They need room. There are all kinds of talented wrestlers on the WWE roster, to the point there it has been divided into multiple groups. While Monday Night Raw and SmackDown are the big times, there is also the NXT developmental roster, which features wrestlers trying to get it up to the big time. Now there is a theory that some more people will be getting that chance soon.

Last week, WWE released a variety of wrestlers from their contracts. According to Fightful Select by way of Cagesideseats.com, there is a belief in NXT that some of the releases were designed to free up space for some NXT stars to be called up to the main roster. This comes as stars like Roxanne Perez have been featured on the main roster more frequently. It should be noted that this is NOT confirmed and is only speculation at this point.

Opinion: This would make sense and WWE has done similar things before. There are only so many spots available on the main roster and there are a lot of stars ready to move up from NXT. It would be a logical move for WWE to trim off some people who haven’t been doing much to make room for those younger stars from NXT. If, and that’s the key word, that is what they are doing, we could be in for a heck of a changeover for the WWE roster.
