Backstage Reaction To Carlito's Controversial Statement On Monday Night Raw

It isn’t going well. There are all kinds of things said and done on any given wrestling show and for the most part, everything is pretty run of the mill. You won’t see many things that ruffle many feathers, but you can tell one of them when you see it. That was the case again this week, when a controversial statement made on Monday Night Raw was not well received, which should not be a surprise.

This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a backstage segment with Damage CTRL’s Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky. The two left when Judgment Day’s Carlito was present, saying he had to “learn Chinese”. This was said despite Sane and Sky being Japanese rather than Chinese. According to Fightful Select, the line was not scripted and people in the company were stunned that Carlito said it. The line has been removed from WWE’s digital versions of the show. There is no word on whether Carlito will be punished for the statement.

Opinion: I’m not sure what Carlito was thinking when he made that statement and there was no reason for it to be said. There is a good chance that he is going to be punished for this and it might be a long time before he is back on WWE television. Hopefully this is something that we do not see again and it was something of a bad idea of a joke, but it could be a bit worse than that.
